At 40, you need to think about getting a pressure check on your eyes. If you have a family history of Glaucoma, then this is even more important (there is a strong genetic component to glaucoma).
Is a lot of your work involving computers/close work? If so, then it is a good idea to take a few minutes every hour or two to go outside, take off your glasses and take in natural light. . This helps to prevent too much eyestrain.

so can high blood pressure pills if you dont need them

I have high ocular pressure that has to be monitored. At 40 my eyes were getting worse. At 53 my distance has improved, just need glasses for reading.

if you are taking high blood pressure pills , stop taking them before they blind yea and kill your liver
