Hola chicos,
Hi Guys,
This is one for the doctors on the team.
I'm living in the canary islands and have been offered a position with horses.
Clean stables and taking care of the animals.
I've spotted Rhodococcus equi on a quick google and I'm wondering at how much risk I'm putting myself if I where to accept the position.
CD at last count was 455.
No idea my viral load number until I see doc next month. But when last speaking to her she it was "good".
i'm not a doctor, but according to this site, it looks though if you are on medication, had your pnemonia shots, you should be ok.
@Un miembro de myHIVteam yes all HIV+ people should be getting pneumonia shots.
I had a friend who trained horses and I use to go up there often to help around the stables and to shovel up their droppings as I took it home by bags and fertilized my garden. It was a big garden and everything grew enormous. We both were poz and my t cells were below 200. Im not sure what his were. He had some other problems and killed himself.
Thank you! I need to mention it to my doctor.
Should everyone need pneumonia shots? I dont remember having 1
