Creo que pronto se encontrará una cura para el VIH/SIDA, tal vez no durante mi vida, pero si es así, ¿cómo afectará esto a personas como yo? Lo único que desearía sería deshacerme de esta enfermedad, pero después de ser positivo durante más de 25 años, no he podido trabajar desde 1999. Vivo de SSI/SSDI, así que mi pregunta es qué pasa si obtengo curado. ¿Ya no seré considerado discapacitado? ¿Perderé mi único medio de ingresos? I believe that a cure for HIV/AIDS will be found soon, maybe not in my life-time but if it is then how will this effect people like myself? I would want nothing more than to be rid of this illness, but after being positive for more than 25 years, I haven't been able too work since 1999. I live off SSI/SSDI, so my question is what happens if I get cured. Will I no loner be considered disabled? Will I loose my only means of income? Ur right, getting SSI or SSDI for HIV is almost impossible. I knew I was HIV+ back in the early 80's & worked until 1999, when I fell out on the job, taken too the hospital where I was upgraded to having FULL-BLOWN-AIDS. I was given SSI/SSDI and six too eight weeks to live, all at the same time. They gave me the checks because I was on my DEATH bed, but God had other plans for me. I recovered but never fully, since then I've been on my death bed 3 more times (that's my limitations) much too the disappointment of the goverment, I just won't die. How rude of me.
