DId You Live In A Different Country, State, Or County From Where You Live Now?

Si es así, ¿en qué se diferencia la atención del VIH donde se encuentra ahora, en comparación con donde antes? Esto puede ser cualquier cosa, desde atención médica hasta vivienda, comida o transporte.

If so, how is HIV care differently where you are now, compared to where you were? This can be anything from medical care to housing, food or transportation.

I just moved in state back in october and switched drs. In the 15 years of being Hiv positive i have never had a dr that has ever been more concerned about my health. He is wanting to vaccinate me for everything from a to z. Which is a good thing i guess.

I've lived in Dallas, Houston and now Tulsa Oklahoma. I have found on my journey that being educated on your health goes a long way no matter where I'm living. It is a much more affordable environment and the services are adequate.

I was first in Tampa, FL at the time I was diagnosed, for two years and had good care just limited medicines, my body reacted differently, badly, when I could no longer get out of bed. A straight nurse friend, a flight nurse, ask me to come to Charlotte, NC, he knew a pioneer in HIV so I did. The care was excellent, Ryan White was supportive, financially and mentally. I went on Zerit and Epiver. Nephropathy from Zerit and HIV destroyed my nervous system. The pain was unbearable, thus started a 16 year addiction to pain meds. I lost everything and moved back to my camping trailer in Old Town, FL. in 3/2000. Ryan White at Gainesville Health department did my care till 2013. I saw a different doctor every time I went. They tried but my body did not cooperate. May 2000 I was taken off all meds and started my nightmare of trying every new med as it was developed. Nothing was tolerable until 01/2012 when University of Florida took over my care, I had full blown Aids. 3/2012 I started Intelience and Epzicom, hard to take but became undetectable and CD4 rose constantly.
I began with St. Joseph Tampa Care 01/2014, still there, went on 1 pill Juluca 2 weeks ago last Sunday and feel great for the first time in over 22 years!

I was active duty military and ststioned in London. The order to test all active duty was given and I was caught on the first service wide screening. I was sent to the US for further examination. We didnt know that behind closed doors the NATO member nations had already agreed to limit travel of anyone who tested positive. At the time it was not even called AIDS or even ARC. It was H1N1+ or more commonly known as a gay disease. So I could not go back to London. After screening tests, still active duty I was ordered to the greater Norfolk Va area. I was blessed that I had military dr's at Bethesda Naval Hospital who worked with the CDC and NIH so I traveled there a lot. The costs of living there weren't so high, I would have moved there after the service. By the time I decided to get out of the military I had already established roots in the area and have now lived with this disease for 32 years but primarily in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. We have great support systems and I am happy... I'd still like to go back to London.
