Me doy cuenta de que muchas mujeres jóvenes se unen a nosotros aquí desde todo el mundo. Si bien les doy la bienvenida, me entristece que no se haya podido evitar su infección. Veo anuncios que alientan constantemente a los hombres homosexuales VIH negativos a tomar PrEP. Conozco hombres homosexuales cuyos médicos recomendaron la PrEP. Quizás simplemente me lo estoy perdiendo, pero no veo el mismo impulso para las mujeres sexualmente activas.
I’m noticing so many young women joining us here from around the world. While I welcome them, I’m sad that their infection wasn’t avoided. I see advertisements constantly encouraging HIV negative gay men to go on PrEP. I know gay men whose doctors encouraged PrEP. Perhaps I’m just missing it, but I don’t see the same push for sexually active women.

The 2024 retrovirus conference ended this week and there was some promising news. They found out the drugs Islatravir and lenacapavir taken together once a week worked just as well as once a day ARVS. To me this is good news since I really hate taking pills everyday.
