If your HIV positive 1, and your on daily medication.
Can you still contract HIV 2?
(For an example) lets say someone has HIV 2 and the other person has HIV 1
But HIV 1 person takes a daily HIV medication.
Can that person still contract HIV 2.
Basically if you're already positive can you still contract, a different HIV strand....
I know taking medication keeps your numbers good.
But does it help from getting a different strain??

Thanks.
I'll let you know what I find out....
I was always wondering about this?...
Condom might help.
That's a great question, I'd think you'd have to make sure that medicine works against it. Biktarvy has HIV-1 written all over it. It doesn't have any indications for HIV -2.
Yes. There are numerous strains and subtypes of Hiv, if you have one subtype and your partner has another then there is always a risk of aquiring the other strain from your partner
Hope this helps Steve☺
