Me hice una prueba de VIH negativa. Aproximadamente un año después, di positivo. Mi recuento de CD4 era de 156 (no recuerdo si era 6 de carga viral). Durante los primeros tres meses, me hacían análisis quincenales. Me informaron sobre la evolución de mi carga viral y mis CD4, y que estimaban que lo tenía desde hacía 14 años, aunque hasta entonces había dado negativo.

I was tested negative for HIV. About a year later I was tested positive. My CD4 was 156 i don't remem6 VL. For the first 3 months I was tested biweekly for labs. I was told then that how my VL and cd4s were going, that they estimated i had had it for 14 years, even though i was testing negative up to then.
So I believe HIV can hide in reservoirs for a long time, keep biilding up until there is no more room and it finally goes to the rest of the body.
