What is a major accomplishment you achieved this last year that you haven't really told anyone about because it felt 'too small' to mention?

Edmore, MI

Why was that specific win important to you, and how did you celebrate it (even if you just celebrated in your head)?

No desaparecí.

There were long stretches where I barely functioned, no structure, no motivation, isolated most of the time. But I’m still here. I didn’t disappear. I didn’t completely give up, even when it felt like everything in me wanted to shut down.

And recently, I actually entered a PHP (partial hospitalization program), which for me was a big step. It meant admitting I needed help and doing something about it instead of staying stuck.

That might sound small to someone else, but for me, staying alive and taking even one step forward has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

I didn’t really celebrate it… but maybe just being here and trying is the celebration.

I appreciate you all very much but I’m getting too many emails and I want
you all to stop because I’m really busy and can’t answer all of them

My accomplishment was and still in progress, was me finding school and me as a future shelter worker.

What does celebrating personal accomplishments and small wins look like when living with HIV?

Living with HIV comes with real challenges, but many people find that recognizing even the smallest victories can make a big difference in overall well-being. Research suggests that practicing gratitude is linked to better quality of life — and that includes physical health benefits like improved sleep.

A myHIVteam member shared this beautifully: *"Today I am undetectable. I have a good driving record, I'm married, and I'm helping to rebuild my town. There is life with HIV. I am proof."*

Small wins worth celebrating might include:

- Staying consistent with your medication
- Reaching an undetectable viral load
- Getting through a tough week
- Prioritizing rest when your body needs it
- Showing up for yourself emotionally

A myHIVteam member put it simply: *"I'm not hiding my struggles anymore. I have to prioritize ME."*

One practical way to honor your wins is to keep a gratitude journal — jot down three things that went well each day. It sounds small, but over time it can genuinely shift your mindset.

Every step forward counts. Living well with HIV is itself an accomplishment worth celebrating. 🎉
