Heyyy group!! Has anyone switched from taking the pill everyday to doing injections instead? If so, are there any side effects?
Actualmente estoy tomando Biktarvy, pero he estado pensando en empezar con las inyecciones. Tomar la pastilla todos los días me lo recuerda constantemente. He subido de peso, pero voy al gimnasio con regularidad para mantenerme en forma. Me gustaría recibir algunos consejos.
I’m currently taking Biktarvy. But Ive been thinking about starting to do the injections. Just because taking the pill everyday is a current reminder. I have gained the weight but I’m in the gym consistently to keep it off. I’d just like some insight.

Durante un tiempo pasé de las pastillas a las inyecciones, pero tuve que dejarlas porque interactuaban con mi medicación para el corazón. Al principio, las agujas no dolían mucho. Una es más pequeña y apenas se siente, la otra es más grande y sí que se siente. Después de la primera inyección, me dolieron las nalgas un par de días. El dolor no era fuerte, más bien una molestia durante unos días. Después de unas cuantas inyecciones más, solo fue una pequeña molestia durante unas horas y listo. Pero cada persona es diferente. ESTA FUE MI EXPERIENCIA. Ojalá hubiera podido seguir con las inyecciones.
I went from pill to injections for awhile, but I had to stop taking injections because they would counter react with my heart medication. When I first started the injections, the needles themselves didn't really hurt. One needle is smaller and you barely feel it, the other needle is bigger, you do feel that. For the first injection, your butt cheeks hurt for a couple of days afterward. The pain wasn't bad, more like a nuisance for a few days than pain. After a few more injections, then it was nothing but a little nuisance for a few hours and good to go. But it can be different for different people. THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE. I wish I was able to stay on the injections.

I am just a year on ARVs. Briefly Biktarvy and now Dovato. My kidney is grateful. On those 4 months on Biktarvy, I gained 10 pounds. Since changing to Dovato some of that has come off.
