¿Recibió Una Visita De Un Trabajador Social Cuando Le Diagnosticaron?
Did You Receive A Caseworker Visit When You Were Diagnosed?
About 2 weeks after being diagnosed (Dec. 2013), I received a call, at my office, on my desk line. It was a Caseworker and he stated he was in the parking lot and wanted to meet with me. I was not expecting anything like this. I quickly cleared my line and calendar and scheduled a conference room for his visit. I was taken back by some of his questions and somewhat accusations as well as, for lack of a better term, threats of punishment, if I wasn't completely honest with him. I answered… read more
Back in 1985 a caseworker was not yet a thing since HIV/AIDS was still relatively new while we all sat around looking at each other in disbelief and the feeling of certain death has come to visit. Here I am almost 40 years later living HIV and already having gone through 7 case workers. I am considered a client.
@Un miembro de myHIVteam I was in Charlotte NC when I went to get a caseworker with Ryan White 12/98 and they never came to my house but they did help with rent and making sure all my health concerns were addressed. They only called to return my calls. They were a life saver for me at the time! Pastor David

You can file a complaint against the State of North Carolina, but due to being since 2015 it may be too late to file a complaint with them.
Here is a website for further research.

Yes I received a case worker but all they asked me was if I needed help with anything. Did I need help finding an id Dr or if I had housing. They also answered any questions I had at the time. I still have my case worker and he has always been kind and respectful.
I had a caseworker ever since I started going on my own to do my HIV Rapid Testing and bloodwork as well. Once I found out I was infected with the virus. I was still assigned to the same case manager, never had to come to my place or office. I would always go to him, call him, etc.
Never had an "Agency" or someone from an Agency come to the house.
As an HIV Advocate, if anything let me know and I will investigate. (every state works different and have different guidelines).
