Re: Masking For Immune Compromised Vaccinated Individuals:
Yesterday the CDC suggested all individuals unvaccinated or not wear masks indoors, especially in lower vaccinated states. I saw my Hematologist yesterday and he said he is advising immune compromised people like ourselves and his Cancer patients to mask up just like pre vaccination days. He suggested wearing a N-95 mask which offers the best protection. They are available on Amazon now, but there may be a run on them depending on what happens with the increasing cases and variations of the… read more
I'm not so sure we'll have the old days of 'pre-covid' back since MANY refuse the vaccine. There's always a few in every crowd that'll ruin it for the others. But I hope one day we'll get back to the mask-free days.
I think it's just a general medical concern right now. For those of us who have immune compromise systems such as AIDS not necessarily HIV because some of us are still very healthy and our numbers are still very high while others have complications and their numbers are low. Having said that definitely cancer, bone marrow, transplant and so forth... Critically ill immune compromise people and people with AIDS should wear a mask. Not necessarily A N95 because they are hard to come by but just a covering at this point. Let's wait until the booster shot in October before we start getting a little crazy or ahead of ourselves. The vaccination does help alott👍🌈❤️.. but as you can see the guidance is changing so now they're telling everyone vaccinated or not immune compromised or not to wear a mask indoors or an areas where there's a high density of people because we do not know who is vaccinated and who is not. The problem here is not the vaccination itself it's the 100 million people who refuse to get one 😳
I’m not sure of the price of the N95’s but I’ve heard they can be expensive.I had an idea a couple of months back that we would be at the place we are now…so much for feelings and hunches. I don’t think we’ll be living in a Covid-Free world again, Already there is talk
of “booster shots” so there you are, perhaps one day this will be manageable like the flu or other “chronic Illnesses. All that I know is that for the “near future” I’ll be masking up.
My care team said that I should wear a mask in any indoor situation where there is many people, ie: grocery store and the like. I still have been wearing one at church and only take it off to speak from the stage where I'm 12 feet away from others. My family doctor friend who was fully vaccinated tested positive for the delta variant, but is not sick and they test him weekly because he works in nursing homes where 50% of the employees are not vaccinated. He is working from home till he tests negative. I agree with @Un miembro de myHIVteam don't panic but protect yourself!
When they said we can take our mask off i said they are crazy now the numbers are going up again I am vaccinated and I never stopped masking up I think ppl feel there invisible I always mask up with a N95
Blessings All & Be Safe😊
