Guess I was spoiled back in the old days when HIV docs were also GP's, and spent at least a half hour with you, sometimes an hour. Since my last two HIV/GP docs retired, both I saw for several years, I've notice quite a change. First off, not many HIV docs are also GP docs in my city, so you need to have two docs, one for HIV, the other GP. My first appointment with my new HIV doc was about 15 minutes if that. He didn't seem concerned about my history, more concerned about my changing meds… read more

Good morning my friend and thank you for the question. Yes recently in the last year my doctor who I've had as my primary care physician who is also an infectious disease doctor has been very Curt with me. I on the other hand have been very open about discussing anything with him and asking him specific questions and holding him to his answers. He and I have had arguments in the past especially with his misdiagnosis of a lung disorder that ended up putting me in the hospital for seven days and he misdiagnosed as asthma ...
I have COPD. So since then he's been very careful not to mess up with me so to speak. Hold your doctor's to account remind them of their medical responsibilities and replace them if they do not. Thanks for your question

I don't know about where you are from but here in Dallas there's been a major increase in hiv cases and there are not enough doctors to treat them. I'm not trying to insult or put any one down but this new generation are in such a hurry to do everything. Remember this is my opinion. Fortunately my doctor has been with me for 10 years. She knows I don't like doctors or clinics. She is very straightforward and to the point. She does spend as much time as we need to. Sometimes I do have to remind her about my hiv numbers. It's just a generation thing everyone is in a hurry. I don't mean to be naive but I don't know what GP"S or LTS is im assuming it is a doctors title. Take care of yourself and have a great weekend

Unfortunately I have had a similar experience. Care for long term aids/hiv is disappearing it seems.

I agree with you but one thing that I have noticed lately is that a lot of big hospital networks like here in Illinois ,...we have Northwestern Memorial Hospital... which is a huge hospital. That's the one I belong to and they are very particular especially the CEO ,....of their customer service satisfaction, especially those who have private Insurance along with Medicare , Medicaid. They have to be very careful how they handle these particular patients as they are a big portion of their income. There is a Code of Ethics that all Hospital Personnel need to follow and you have every right to bring it to their attention.

Some doctor's attitude and care is too poor
I thought it's here where we receive free service or pay small consultation fee. It's worse with young doctors
