Soy indetectable desde el año pasado y tuve mi primera gripe hace un par de días y decidí tomar multivitaminas. ¿Está bien si tomo multivitaminas todos los días durante el día y ARV por la noche? Tengo miedo de que esto disminuya la función de mis ARV porque tengo una pareja a la que proteger. ¿Hay alguien aquí que consuma multivitaminas todos los días durante un largo período de tiempo?
NB: Lo siento, mi inglés es terrible, soy asiático.
I am undetectable since last year and i had my first time flu about couple days ago and decided to take multivitamins. Is it ok if i take multivitamins everyday at day time and ARVs at night? I'm afraid that it will decrease my ARVs function because i have partner to protect. Is there anybody here who consume multivitamins everyday for a long period of time?
NB: Sorry my english is very terrible, i am Asian.
My doctor said I should take a 50+ multi, due to my age, and have been doing so since I was diagnosed. So for almost 10 years now.
@Un miembro de myHIVteam, yes it's fine to take multivitamins when being on ARVs. There is though 1 issue with this. Do NOT take multivitamins within 3 hours of your ARVs because then it WILL affect your ARVs. If you're taking your multivitamins in the morning and ARVs at night, that is perfectly fine.
I tested POZ in 1991. I’ve bern taking a mulivitamin, some addionsl E, C and a couple herbal supplements with no issue. I started on AZT but in 1996 i dropped to an all time low cd4 count of 6 so my meds weere changed. Currently i am on Biktarvy, cd4 is 1651 and i’m undetectable. Your doctor is the person to ask this question to. I asked mine right away in 1991 and he felt it couldn’t hurt. Take care of you!
I like @Un miembro de myHIVteam started on AZT and I have been and still am on a multi vitamin and many others and my care team believes that they are very important. I run all vitamins and supplements through my care team. Only after my heart surgery did they take me off one.
