I feel bad for them because they’re ignorant and you shouldn’t let ignorance get you down. Try educating them and if that doesn't work they might not care enough to be friends

In this day, living in the gay community, most of the individuals I encounter are quite knowlegable of HIV; so telling them my status is sort of easy. For the ones who are unaware and uneducated, the best thing you can do is just educate them to the best of your ability. Teach them what U=U means. If they care to listen or understand then cut ties with them as they are more fish in the sea.

In the early 90s I had a relative who said my kids couldn't play with his kids. They never did before he found out about me so I didn't worry.

It's all about how you say it> I usually am quite direct. I am Hiv Positive Undetectable and take a pill a day that prevents me from being contagious and blocks any new HIV from hurting me. So you can use the utensils and eat food that I have prepared. I also won't discriminate against you for being negative.
That usually does the trick.
