Aquí, tenemos suerte de contar con cosas como la Financiación Ryan White (Partes A-F), tenemos la financiación de HOPWA que se renovó más en el año fiscal 2026 con 524 millones. ¿Qué es exactamente lo que me estoy perdiendo aquí sobre por qué no tenemos suerte?

Pero es nuestro deber mantener estos programas financiados, y para lograrlo debemos luchar como si nuestras vidas dependieran de ello, como pueden ver con los recortes de Medicaid bajo una ley enorme y horrible, que fue peligrosa, y creo que su ira está mal dirigida.

Here, we are lucky to have things such as Ryan White Funding (Parts A-F), we have HOPWA funding that was renewed more in FY26 at 524m, what am I exactly missing here as to how we're not lucky?

But it is our duty to keep these programs funded, and to do so we must fight as if our lives depended on it, as you can see with the Medicaid Cuts under One Big Horrible Bill, that was dangerous, and I believe your anger is misdirected.

Sinceramente, dudo que muchos de los floridanos con VIH/SIDA hayan votado a favor de esta decisión del Departamento de Salud de Florida, y me parece injusto que quien transmite este mensaje insinúe que es su culpa, pero no lo es. I sincerely doubt many of those Floridians with HIV/AIDS voted for this particular decision of Florida’s Department of Health, and I think it unfair that the bearer of this message insinuates it is their fault — it is not. As a matter of fact, I suspect that HIV/AIDS is not even represented well in the Florida House nor in their Senate nor by the vast majority of decision-makers in Florida’s Department of Health. It is unfortunate that the current political tenor in this country sparks such extreme emotions in even the best of us, and while I clearly hear and may even agree with a less-rancid tirade on Floridian voters, to cast all Republicans or all Democrats under one homogenous umbrella is as shortsighted as saying that all queers are HIV positive, and common sense tells us the opposite. It is a disservice to those Florida HIV/AIDS patients to hold them responsible for this short-sighted and almost-guaranteed harmful decision; it is in times like this we must flock together and double down on using our voices to be heard, to change policy, and to educate rather than to be shunned because of erroneous and rude political overtones. The bearer of this message is correct in writing that “[they] voted for it, now [they] can own it,” but “they” need help in determining the importance of state subsidies rather than accepting or condoning a status quo. “They” can vote again; “they: can protest; hell, “they” can even move out of Florida, but “they” cannot be held responsible en masse for this horrible doomsday ruling of the Florida Department of Health. Our words and our voices count, now more than ever — let’s not fall into bad politics at this juncture (indeed, many may ask why even inject politics of this sort into this particular fray?). Let’s think before we speak; let’s plan before we act. Let’s make the difference.
