What does it mean when my CD4 Count goes up over .200 points, from .329 to .555. in less than 3 months? What does that mean for my overall health?
The higher ur cd4 count is the betr u are n undetectable u stay. If u ever hav any questions u can go on the Ryan White Foundation Website and read the information ther and u can also go to the Harvard Medical Website and search information ther as well. Keep taking ur medication daily as instructed and bloodwork every 3 to 4 months. I can also answer questions u may hav as I've been dealing with being poz since 2011 and my family was also in medical fields n I studied ther materials wen I was young around age 12 or 13. My Uncle was a Firefighter EMT, n my Aunt worked from a Nursing Assistant while going to school n worked herself up to being a Registered Nurse n wen I worked on tow boats I took the Firefighter/Emergency Response/Trauma Response courses at Texas A&M, n stay up to date on hiv n other things bcuz I hav alot of issues goin on that can't b fixed for medical reasons (not survive a surgery due to low platelet count 54-83) n my spouse has diabetes plus other issues. I tell drs wat I believe is wrong with myself, spouse, or kids that call before goin to a Dr n 97% of the time I'm right. I always loved trucking (drove 10yrs til medical put me out), medical field, firefighting, n getting my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Im a jack of all trades except electrical n mastered driving semis. Sorry for blaberin on! Stay healthy my friend.
@A myHIVteam Member I think it's a little of both. When I get proper exercise on a regular basis, I notice that my CD4 count comes in closer to the 1500 mark, but when I start slacking off and not doing my part, it will fall to about 1000. It seems to be a consistent pattern for me, so it wouldn't at all surprise me to find out that the two things are closely tied together.
O tal vez sea solo cosa mía.
Well @A myHIVteam Member. It could be due to the amount of water and exercise I have been getting. Or it could be just me.
This is actually a very good sign. It means that not only is the ARV med you're taking working, but by having a much closer to normal CD4 count, you're not as likely to get sick if exposed to something (even as simple as a cold or the flu), and more importantly, if you do end up getting sick with something, your ability to fight it off and recover is much better. So overall, this is a very good sign as it means your immune system is finally starting to bounce back, so you should generally feel much better, and be better able to not get sick.
A rapid rise in CD4 count is generally a positive sign — it means antiretroviral therapy (ART) is working and your immune system is rebuilding itself. That's genuinely great news!
However, a very fast increase can sometimes trigger a condition called Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome (IRIS). This is when your Show Full Answer
