Am ready to date but i would prefere a person of same status as me ...well i think they will understand me more

It works fine. I’m not ashamed of my HIV, it’s just another diagnosis. I’ve not encountered anyone who has been awkward about it, either as a friend or more. My late partner was negative, for him it was just about him making sure I was feeling ok - that was just the kind of guy he was. Maybe we’re more educated about it here in the UK, especially as I’ve always lived in big cities where there are many living with the virus, but I’m never afraid to share it. All my friends are aware of it, as are many at work, it’s just a condition I’ve got to live with.

Yes’m I live in a part of California that’s way backward in terms of tolerance. Most guys here won’t admit to being positive and I get turned down 90% of the time when I come out to them. The ironic thing is that they all want to bareback at first.

My mom and brother know, so does my baby momma and daughter. I told a close friend. They are all very supportive. They just want me to take care of myself.

I would like to start dating but am hesitant to disclose my status for fear of their reaction. I only told family and close friends.
