El estudio ATLAS de fase 3 demostró previamente que recibir inyecciones del régimen de investigación cada 4 semanas no es inferior a un régimen oral diario de tres medicamentos para el tratamiento del VIH y es abrumadoramente preferido por los pacientes.
An injectable two-drug regimen of cabotegravir and rilpivirine administered every 2 months is noninferior to the same injection received monthly, according to results from the phase 3 ATLAS-2M trial. The phase 3 ATLAS study previously demonstrated that receiving injections of the investigational regimen every 4 weeks is noninferior to a daily three-drug oral regimen for the treatment of HIV and is overwhelmingly preferred by patients.
My HIV doctor talked to me about the injection. He tried to sell me on it, but I would rather continue to take my pill and deal with ordering it. I have a routine now and would hate to change it for injections. Besides, I don't know the side affects. I'm happy how things are right now!! So, it's a NO for me!!
I will safely stick to my 1 daily pill,
the saying goes, if it ain't broke, so why change it!
All for taking less and less Poision - if i could stop i would in a second
I Loath needles but prefer that (depending on where) - would also like to know ALL side effects - that they know of and the ones they will not tell anyone till it happens ...
I have enough trouble making my two or 3 dr appointments a year. So I couldn't imagine remembering to get an injection every month,
or sticking myself
Most Americans are infected with HIV1 strain but they are correct a genotype test would verify whether someone is Hiv 1 or 2. Theres a new strain they say has evolved l was reading about at the CDC but not much is known about it yet.
I've been a pioneer in clinical trials but l'm satisfied with my current one pill Biktarvey. I became resistant to most all of the early meds and lived in the unknown of whether something new would be available before l became resistant to that therapy. Luckily now we have alot more choices available to us than even 8-10 yrs ago. I could be wrong but my brother mentioned something about these new hiv meds don't build resistance like the proteases inhibitors did? I'll ask him again this wkend when l call him. His job requires be stay up to date on all the treatment news and l must admit l read but l'm not obsessed with it like l used to be. That's one of the wonderful luxuries these new meds have given us a chance to breathe and live & not be in constant fear anymore.
But l'm very interested in this new shot therapy perhaps someday they can get it to every 6-12 mo.
