Gasoline costs on Maui. I only fill up at Costco since they have the best price out of all the stations here. As of today these are the current prices per gallon;
Regular $2.78 and Premium $3.16.
The Chevron station nearest me is $3.59 for regular and $4.20 for premium. Keep in mind that about 40% of the cost is for taxes here in Hawaii. Making and dispensing the fuel is inexpensive until all the taxes and fees are tacked on.
A big difference when comparing total fuel costs for the year when planning my budget. I will almost always stick to buying from Costco.
There is speculation that under Biden's administration we can expect fuel costs to rise substantially. We just have to wait and see.
Weighing this out I am all for paying more for fuel as long as Biden can get our country back on track with the economy and the pandemic.
