I REALLY HATE that this is being spun by the media as something that affects "men who have sex with men"! Haven't we been down this road already only to learn that nobody is exempt? JEEZ?!

I agree completely @Un miembro de myHIVteam. My real concern with Monkeypox is not so much that it’s a personal danger, I don’t think this is going to spread far, it’s more that that this will be used against LGBTQ+ community.
In this very anti gay atmosphere in this country and in my state ( Florida ) in particular this is only more ammunition to use against us.

Got my Monkeypox vaccine today! From AHF !

People with homophobic tendencies will always take advantage of anything to spew their venom! With this said, I think that the news media should be more delicate in their workings about the monkeypox affecting the LGTBQ communities. It is the first group of people affected here in the USA but it is not limited to the LGTBQ community, this is a human infecting condition that will affect any human being regardless of the population.
It spreads from person to person but for epidemiological reasons, it must be informed where this virus is attaching so people in that given place or population can take precautions and proper authorities can keep an eye on the infection rate, symptoms, control measures, etc.
So, I do understand why it has to be informed that the monkeypox virus is starting to spread in the LGTBQ community but it should be cleared that this virus affects all humans and that it is not an LGRBQ disease!
