Probably since 1984. Officially diagnosed in 1989. Fortunately in Los Angeles I belong to two LTS groups. We remember the past and support each other for the future. Last Tuesday I got a meningitis booster on my doctor’s recommendation. Just noticed the huge bruise on my shoulder a week later. There is an outbreak in Florida and I’m sure it will spread so I suggest you speak to your doctors about getting vaccinated or if you have been in the past, get the booster.

I am a 20 year survivor. Years ago I wondered if I would ever make it this long. I have never been able to become completely undetectable. There is some type of resistance that they are unable to pin down to get me on the right medication to accomplish that. Hugs to all the other long term survivors out there and hugs to the new people, just do all the things you are supposed to do and you will be a long term survivor too!

Yes thank you Luisgabriel we are forgotten and we have our own group here but on the other hand kind of upsets me for the simple fact that we have the HIV meds that are given out free to people in the form of prep so are we forgotten yes no but they get this for free to keep them protected catch 22 life is never fair I am awesomely good with it but we have paved the way for people who have not contracted HIV to get HIV meds for free I don't know if people are aware of this adap insurance is given to those people wow so we should not be forgotten because we've tested these meds for these people keeping us able to have them and be on them that's my take on this loves hugs and blessings to all
