that is really high viral load you want the lowest number possible and your cd4 count should be a high number when I was diagnosed my count was a little higher then yours. your medicine should decrease that number. remember to take your medicine every day. good luck.

Thanks for your feedback. Well my first appointment with my hiv specialist is coming up in two weeks. So far I just did bloodwork, my doctor should talk me through the results and start me on treatment during the appointment I assume.

I was diagnosed in 1987 and pretty newly infected. So I felt fine for until 1996 when my Viral Load shot up to 500,000. At that time the only thing around was AZT. I was lucky to get in the Protease Inhibitor Crixivan Clinical Trial which virtually saved me. With more and more medications coming out I have had an undetectable viral load since 2000. The new meds out should get you load down near undetectable. Might want to talk with doc about your current meds.
