I am not sure my answer is useful but I was one of those that in the early 90s the docs said delay treatment. That almost cost me my life as when I was close to death's door I had 46 cells left. I can not begin to tell you what that was like. It was a very very very slow crawl back from death's door in 2002 to now. I have 570 cd4 count. I made changes in my life and am not done with changes. To those that think their cells won't come back mine did so keep taking the meds and treat your self well. I am thankful for this meds bc with out it I back then could feel and knew I was slipping away. Don't ever play around with not taking the meds. Take the the same time every day. I take it the same time... period. That stinking pill allows me to live. The cells will come back.

Denbub, I can totally relate to your story. In 2013, I was diagnosed with AIDS and had only 18 tcells left, with a viral load in the millions. I was told that I had only a ten percent chance of survival. It has been a long, hard battle trying to fight my way back from death’s door, but taking my meds every day has saved my life! I share my story with newly diagnosed people because I want to give them hope for a healthy future, so anyone reading this who is not currently on meds, see your Doctor and please take that pill everyday, it will truly save your life. Thanks for sharing your story with us Denbub!! 🤗

I learned something today. I thought with the advancement of HIV medication, that Kaposi sarcoma was a thing of the past and it isn't.

You are right! Taking the meds religiously will give you the fighting chance we need and not allow HIV to become a definition of our lives.
