If a doctor refuses to treat a patient because the patient is HIV-positive or has AIDS, it should be brought to the attention of the College of Physicians and Surgeons. You can also file a complaint about such discrimination. Depending upon where you live, look up the medical associations that govern doctors. File a complaint. No one should be refused treatment for HIV or AIDS. Medical professionals should know better.

Doctors like that are not being true to the Hippocratic oath they took upon becoming a doctors. It's pitiful that some of the medical profession can be so ignorant. It should be mandatory that practitioners participate in training for treating HIV/AIDS patients. The lack of sensitivity by some in the profession shows a lack of knowledge of HIV/AIDS and a lack of empathy. My primary physician not only wears a couple masks, she also wears extra clothing when she examines me. She zips in and out of the examination room quickly. I have to chuckle inside. She's quite comical, I wish I'd recorded her on my last visit. She was wrapped up real good. She must've been wearing 3 surgical masks, a couple of the disposable gowns and a hair bonnet. I don't know where she got the idea that wearing extra clothing would protect her from HIV/AIDS. Oh, well it goes to show that even people who have medical degrees don't necessarily understand the way certain illnesses are transmitted. I have to 😁smile when I think of her.
